Maja Palenka is a certified organisational coach and a flex leader, with deep expertise in helping organisations achieve sustainable high performance, through an evolution of their work and leadership practices.

She’s also passionate about gender equity, and achieving that in the home by sharing the mental load. Her passion for understanding human behaviour and the latest research help her create impactful solutions that really stick.

In this episode we discuss:

  • How unconscious bias drives our decision-making, and why we behave in opposition to our goals or intentions sometimes.
  • The mental load, and how we can share it in our relationships.
  • Her own story of realising she was managing the mental load in her home and how angry she felt at the inequity.
  • Rejecting the biological imperative – women are not just better at the mental load. There is deep social and cultural conditioning.
  • How Maja shifted the mental load imbalance in her own home by understanding the root cause and building connection rather than blaming.
  • Equitable access to the same quality of leisure time.
  • What we model for our children through the way we split the load at home.
  • Flexibility in the workplace, how to implement it, and how it’s evolving.
  • Best practice for creating hybrid workplaces that engage all employees and support performance.
